KPK Monitors All Programs of the Prabowo-Gibran Administration, Including MBG

KPK emphasises strong support for the Prabowo Subianto administration’s priority programs, including Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG), and stresses strengthening anti-corruption prevention in their implementation. “KPK, in accordance with its duties and functions, also has an obligation to ensure that flagship programs run well, correctly targeted, with transparency and accountability maintained, and of course there is no corruption in their implementation,” said Aminudin, Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring at KPK, in Serang, Banten, on Wednesday evening (20 May). Aminudin noted several aspects of concern, including readiness of regulations, organisation, and supporting infrastructure of the program that still needed strengthening. “If you look at governance, it could be a mess. A newly established institution, infrastructure not ready, its organisation and regulations not ready, yet it has a pretty large mandate and budget,” he said. He disclosed that MBG’s budget for 2025 reaches IDR 71 trillion with a realisation of 72.5 percent or IDR 51.5 trillion as of 31 December 2025. Meanwhile in 2026, the originally IDR 335 trillion budget was cut to IDR 268 trillion. Aminudin stressed that the large budget increases the potential risk of misappropriation, so oversight needs to be strengthened. “That large budget is why the KPK enters into prevention, because when a project has a large budget, the risk of fraud or corruption certainly rises,” he said. In addition, KPK also assessed that the program has not yet produced significant multiplicative effects for communities at village or sub-district levels.
