KPK: Military Police Accompanied Us During BNPB Corruption Raid

Jakarta – Acting KPK Investigation Director Achmad Taufik Husein said the commission had co-operated with the Indonesian Military Police (Puspom TNI) in handling an alleged corruption case involving ready-to-use funds (DSP) at the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). One example was requesting Puspom TNI’s assistance during an anti-corruption operation at the BNPB office.

“We have indeed co-ordinated with Puspom TNI, including during activities in the field,” acting KPK Investigation Director Achmad Taufik Husein told a press conference at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Friday (16 October 2026).

“Several colleagues from Puspom TNI accompanied the operation at the BNPB office, including the installation of seals. That was also carried out jointly with Puspom TNI, which provided assistance,” he added.

He said co-operation with Puspom TNI in the case also concerned the KPK’s application of Article 12(i) of the Anti-Corruption Law. Taufik said the provision was being applied because of alleged involvement by a state official at BNPB.

“The application of Article 12(i), concerning conflicts of interest, is based on evidence held by the KPK. As the case has entered the investigation stage, that evidence has convinced us that a state official at BNPB was involved,” Taufik said.

However, he said the KPK would co-ordinate with Puspom TNI regarding the charge relating to the state official.

He added that the KPK had co-ordinated with Puspom TNI immediately after the operation. He said he was confident the military police would follow up on the co-ordination.

“During the process yesterday, both when the case was presented and afterwards, on 14 October, several colleagues from Puspom TNI had already co-ordinated with us and received a detailed explanation of the case’s construction. Our colleagues at Puspom TNI will follow this up,” Achmad Taufik Husein concluded.
