Jakarta — The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is ensuring it is currently mapping corruption vulnerabilities in the Makan Bergizi Gratis (Free Nutritious Meal) programme following the emergence of allegations concerning price mark-ups or inflation of food ingredient prices for the kitchen units of the Nutritional Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG).

“Through its prevention function, the KPK is currently conducting a study to map vulnerability gaps prone to corruption so that they can be prevented and mitigated,” KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Monday.

Budi explained that one of the findings from this study would consist of recommendations, which would then be communicated to relevant stakeholders.

Additionally, he stated that the KPK, through the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (Stranas PK), is also focusing its actions on government priority programmes, including the Free Nutritious Meal scheme.

Previously, on 24 February 2026, Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency Nanik Sudaryati Deyang acknowledged receiving numerous reports about partners frequently inflating food ingredient prices for the SPPG kitchens.

The price inflation was reported to exceed the highest retail price (HET), and the food ingredients received were often of poor quality.

For this reason, she urged SPPG heads, financial supervisors and nutrition supervisors to refuse to accommodate the demands of these SPPG partners.
