KPK: Land Cruiser Worth Rp2.05 Billion for Suhardiman Was Purchased Second-Hand

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth Rp2.05 billion, allegedly given by Kuantan Singingi District Secretary Zulkarnain (ZKN) to Regent Suhardiman Amby (SA), was a second-hand vehicle. “This vehicle is second-hand, so it is still registered under someone else’s name,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Thursday. Consequently, the KPK is currently investigating the history of the vehicle’s acquisition, which is suspected to be an instrument of bribery from Zulkarnain, the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office for the 2021-2025 period, to the Regent to secure his appointment as District Secretary. Budi added that the KPK will summon the leasing party to provide testimony. “Investigators need information from the leasing party regarding the purchase mechanism carried out by ZKN as the District Secretary, as well as the role of ARD, whose name was used for the leasing application,” he said. The KPK previously conducted a sting operation in Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau, and Jakarta on 29 June 2026, securing 10 individuals. The following day, the KPK requested that Suhardiman and Zulkarnain surrender, which they did before being picked up by investigators at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten. On 1 July 2026, the KPK named Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, Ardiles, as suspects in a case of alleged bribery related to the trade of influence within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government. In addition to the bribery allegations, the KPK also suspects Suhardiman of receiving gratuities related to the release of limited production forest areas.
