KPK: Kuansing Regent Previously Received Pajero Sport Bribe While Acting Regent
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regent Suhardiman Amby a suspect in a bribery case for receiving a Land Cruiser from Zulkarnain during the regional secretary selection process. In addition to the Land Cruiser, Suhardiman is also suspected of having previously received a Pajero Sport bribe while serving as Acting Regent of Kuansing in 2021.
“This is not the first time ZKN (Zulkarnain) has done this. When he was serving as a department head, he also gave something to SA, who was still Acting Regent at the time,” said KPK Acting Director of Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein during a press conference at the KPK building on Wednesday (1/7/2026).
For context, Suhardiman became Acting Regent of Kuansing after the then-regent, Andi Putra, was arrested by the KPK for a corruption case. Suhardiman was subsequently re-elected and inaugurated as Regent of Kuansing in 2025.
Achmad Taufik stated that Zulkarnain purchased a Pajero Sport worth Rp 700 million on credit at that time in order to secure the position of Head of the PUPR Department in Kuansing. The purchase was also facilitated by a private party named Ardiles, the Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant.
The KPK suspects that Ardiles received 13 projects from the PUPR Department because he helped Zulkarnain buy the Pajero Sport to bribe Suhardiman. The total value of the projects obtained by Ardiles in 2022 was Rp 1.2 billion.
“ARD again became the winner of projects in several departments and the regional secretariat of Kuansing in 2025 and 2026, with a total value of more than Rp 966 million,” he said.
Currently, Zulkarnain is again suspected of giving a bribe to Suhardiman. The bribe, in the form of a Land Cruiser, was intended to ensure his appointment as Regional Secretary of Kuansing.
The Land Cruiser, valued at Rp 2.05 billion, was purchased on credit with the assistance of Ardiles. Suhardiman, Zulkarnain, and Ardiles have all been named suspects by the KPK.
“The instalment payments over this period were also intended by ZKN to lock in his position for the duration of the regent’s term, so the credit was set with a five-year tenor,” he said.
