KPK Issues Two New Investigation Warrants in Banjarmasin Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has issued two new investigation warrants (sprindik) to expand its probes into alleged corruption at the Banjarmasin Medium Tax Office (KPP Madya) and the Rejang Lebong Regency Government. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated in Jakarta on Monday that the warrants are still general in nature and do not yet include the naming of new suspects. ‘They are general sprindik,’ he said. The first case is an expansion of an alleged bribery scheme involving the conditioning of value-added tax (PPN) restitution in the palm oil plantation sector, which previously ensnared former Head of KPP Madya Banjarmasin Mulyono Purwo Wijoyo. In that case, the KPK had earlier named Mulyono, tax official Dian Jaya Demega, and PT Buana Karya Bhakti Finance Manager Venarus Jenarus Genggor as suspects. The second warrant relates to the development of an alleged bribery case concerning projects within the Rejang Lebong Regency Government, which implicated non-active Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari. The KPK had previously named five suspects in this case, including Fikri, Head of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Agency Hary Eko Purnomo, Irsyad Satria Budiman, Edi Manggala, and Youki Yusdiantoro. They are suspected of involvement in bribery related to project arrangements in the Rejang Lebong Regency Government for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.
