KPK Issues 72 Investigation Warrants in First Half of 2026

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has issued 72 Investigation Warrants (Sprinlidik) during the first semester of 2026. KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto stated that this move is a response to the high level of public attention on the effectiveness of law enforcement. ‘The KPK continues to move progressively. Throughout the first semester of 2026, the KPK has issued 72 Investigation Warrants as the initial foundation for probing various suspected corruption cases,’ Setyo said during a press conference at the KPK Support Building in Jakarta on Thursday (30/7). Setyo noted that the public and media spotlight has been on the high intensity of sting operations (OTT), particularly those ensnaring regional heads. He affirmed that enforcement actions are carried out without discrimination. ‘This firm stance is evidenced by the consistent handling of cases, with 119 defendants currently being processed in court throughout this semester,’ he stated. The KPK has also ensured that cases do not stall at the investigation stage, transferring 76 cases to the court (P-31). Setyo added that this consistency is maintained across all levels of the judiciary, including overseeing 52 District Court rulings, 4 High Court rulings, 2 Supreme Court rulings, and 16 judicial review processes. During the first half of 2026, the KPK conducted 12 covert investigations that culminated in sting operations. These operations involved seven regional governments: Pati Regency, Madiun City, Pekalongan Regency, Rejang Lebong Regency, Cilacap Regency, Tulungagung Regency, and Muara Enim Regency. Other operations targeted the Jakarta Medium Tax Office, the Banjarmasin Pratama Tax Office, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, the Depok District Court, and the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections. Setyo revealed that the number of sting operations in the first half of 2026 has increased significantly compared to the same period in 2025, which saw only two operations in Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra, and North Sumatra Province.
