KPK Issues 72 Investigation Warrants and Conducts 12 Sting Operations in First Half of 2026
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has delivered its performance report for the first semester of 2026. To date, the KPK has issued 72 investigation warrants (sprinlidik).
"In the activities of investigation, prosecution, and asset recovery throughout the first semester of 2026, the KPK has compiled data on investigation, prosecution, and trial achievements, with investigation data totalling 72," said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto during a performance achievement press conference at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday (30/7/2026).
Throughout 2026, 119 defendants have also been brought to court. This number is higher compared to the second semester of 2025. "Furthermore, the defendants brought to court by the KPK number 119, with 46 cases transferred," he stated.
Based on data from the first semester of 2026, the KPK conducted 12 sting operations (OTT). Setyo stressed that law enforcement is not solely about naming suspects. "Up to June, there have been 12 covert investigation activities or sting operations," he said. "We want to emphasise that law enforcement is not just about naming suspects, but ensuring that every case achieves legal certainty and that every perpetrator can be held accountable for their actions," he added.
The KPK asserted that assets resulting from corruption must be returned to the public through various means, including auctions and grants to public institutions. So far in 2026, the transfer of status for utilisation (PSP) and grants has totalled Rp 229 billion. "As per the data, several assets have been transferred or granted, or had their utilisation status determined for various ministries, institutions, and local governments, with a total value of Rp 229.81 billion," he said.
