KPK invites experts as advisors

JAKARTA: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has invited experts to sit on its four-member advisory team.

However, until Saturday afternoon, the announcement was only available on its web site (www.kpk.go.id) although Law No. 30/2002 concerning the KPK requires the commission to disseminate information on recruitment to the general public.

Applicants must be figures with acclaimed expertise in areas such as criminal law, financial law, criminology and sociology, according to Sugiri, the KPK secretary general heading the selection team.

He said that the commission would only advertise the recruitment in a national newspaper on Monday. The registration will close on Dec. 2.

Other selectors include head of the Police Science Institute (PTKI) Comr. Gen. Farouk Muhamad, lawyer Nono Anwar Makarim, Deputy Attorney General on Intelligence Basrif Arief and sociologist Imam Prasodjo. -- JP
