KPK Investigating Wage Deduction Mechanisms in Bogor Regency Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that investigators are currently examining the mechanism of illegal wage deductions as part of the investigation into alleged corruption within the Bogor Regency Government, West Java.

“Investigators are certainly tracing whether these deductions were performed routinely, the amounts involved, and the frequency of these occurrences. All of this is part of the material being investigated,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Furthermore, Budi stated that KPK investigators are also investigating where the funds from these deductions, which should have been received in full by civil servants at the Bogor Regency Regional Revenue Agency (Bappenda), were being directed.

“All of this is still being investigated because the first round of examinations at the investigation stage was only recently conducted, involving four witnesses from Bappenda and the Bogor Regency Civil Service and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM),” he said.

Previously, information circulated regarding a sting operation (OTT) conducted by the KPK in Bogor Regency on 20 August 2026. The KPK subsequently clarified this information, stating that no sting operation had been carried out in Bogor Regency.

However, on 21 August 2026, the KPK acknowledged that it had secured evidence amounting to Rp1.5 billion during the investigation into alleged corruption within the Bogor Regency Government.

The investigation has since been upgraded to the investigation stage through the issuance of a general investigation order (sprindik) regarding the alleged receipt of funds by state officials in the Bogor Regency Government. These funds are suspected to have originated from the illegal deduction of wages at the Bogor Regency Bappenda.

In addition to this matter, the KPK also revealed that it is investigating alleged corruption related to the procurement of goods and services within the Bogor Regency Education Office.

Under the current general investigation order, the KPK has not yet named any individuals as suspects. On 27 August 2026, the KPK conducted searches at the Bappenda and BKPSDM offices in Bogor Regency, followed by a search of the Bogor Regency Education Office the following day.
