KPK Investigates Sudewo's Order to Collect Funds from Village Official Candidates

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating an order allegedly issued by the non-active Regent of Pati, Sudewo, to collect funds from candidates vying for village official positions for the filling of village official positions.

The KPK Spokesperson, Budi Prasetyo, stated that investigators are examining this matter while questioning several witnesses in the extortion case related to the filling of village official positions, which implicates Sudewo.

“Investigators are questioning the witnesses regarding the processes involved in filling the positions of village official candidates. They are also confirming the order to collect funds from the candidates,” said Budi at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Wednesday (February 25, 2026).

Budi added that investigators are also examining witness testimony regarding the role of the campaign team when Sudewo was the Regent of Pati.

“The roles of the campaign team or transition team during Sudewo’s tenure as Regent of Pati are being investigated and clarified,” he said.

“There were alleged arrangements made to favour certain parties in the process or implementation of these procurement projects,” he added.

A total of 13 witnesses were questioned today, including Edy Susanto, Head of Perdopo Village; Sunarwi, former Chairman of the Pati DPRD/Campaign Team for the Regent of Pati; Manurung, member of the Supervisory Board of RSUD Suwonso Pati/Campaign Team for the Regent of Pati.

Also questioned were Susilo, Head of Gajihan Village; Tafaquri, Head of Pundenrejo Village; Suyanto, Head of Gesegan Village; Wiwit Edi, Head of Mojo Village; Yuniatin, Head of Dororejo Village; and Dwi Tantri, Head of Batursari Village.

Previously, the KPK named the Regent of Pati, Sudewo, as a suspect in the alleged extortion case related to the filling of village official positions in Pati Regency on Tuesday (January 20, 2026).

In addition to Sudewo, the KPK also named Abdul Suyono, Head of Karangrowo Village, Sumarjiono, Head of Arumanis Village, and Karjan, Head of Sukorukun Village, as suspects.

The KPK revealed that this case began at the end of 2025 when the Pati Regency Government was planning to open positions for village officials in March 2026.
