KPK Investigates Source of Funds Submitted for Inactive Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the sources of funds submitted by regional officials to inactive Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman.

“If it is personal, why then provide it? That is a question that certainly must be answered during the subsequent investigation process,” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at KPK headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

Additionally, the KPK is also examining the possibility that the funds originated from private sector parties suspected of having vested interests in certain projects.

“Whether the funds also come from private parties promised to undertake projects? That certainly must also be clarified which projects,” he said.

On 14 March 2026, the KPK designated Syamsul Auliya Rachman and Cilacap Regional Secretary Sadmoko Danardoo as suspects in alleged extortion and other forms of bribery within the Cilacap Regency government in West Java, concerning fiscal years 2025–2026.
