KPK Investigates Security Services During Questioning of Pemuda Pancasila Chairman Japto
Jakarta — Indonesia’s Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) is investigating alleged security service payments whilst questioning Japto Soerjosoemarno, Chairman of the National Leadership Council of Pemuda Pancasila, at the KPK’s Red-White Building in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Japto was questioned as a witness in the investigation of alleged graft involving former Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari.
“Investigators are examining allegations of receipt of mining proceeds from PT ABP (Alamjaya Barapratama) as security services,” KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists.
Meanwhile, Budi stated that another witness, PT Bara Kumala Sakti Commissioner for 2010-2022 Abdi Khalik Ginting, was unable to fulfil his KPK summons.
“The witness confirmed he could not attend and requested rescheduling due to other previously scheduled activities,” he said.
Previously, on 28 September 2017, the KPK designated Rita Widyasari, PT Sawit Golden Prima Managing Director Hery Susanto Gun, and PT Media Bangun Bersama Commissioner Khairudin as suspects in an alleged graft case in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan.
Rita allegedly received a bribe of Rp6 billion relating to the issuance of location permits for a palm oil plantation in Kupang Baru Village, Muara Kaman District to PT Sawit Golden Prima.
On 16 January 2018, the KPK designated Rita Widyasari and Khairudin as suspects in alleged money laundering offences.
On 6 June 2024, the KPK revealed it had seized 91 vehicles and various other economically valuable items, five plots of land with a total area of thousands of square metres, and 30 luxury watches from various brands during the investigation.
On 19 February 2025, the KPK revealed Rita Widyasari also allegedly received millions of US dollars relating to coal mining, amounting to approximately 5 US dollars per metric tonne of coal.
On 19 February 2026, the KPK announced three corporations as suspects in the alleged graft case relating to new coal production metrics in Kutai Kartanegara. They are PT Sinar Kumala Naga (SKN), PT Alamjaya Barapratama (ABP), and PT Bara Kumala Sakti (BKS).
