KPK Investigates Possible Leak in Sting Operations Targeting Langkat and Kuansing Regents
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the possibility that information regarding sting operations (OTT) in Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau, and Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, was leaked.
Acting Director of KPK Investigations Achmad Taufik Husein stated at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Friday evening that the investigation was launched following suspicions that Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby and Langkat Regent Syah Afandin were aware of the operations being conducted by investigators.
“So, this still needs to be investigated further by the KPK team,” Taufik said.
In addition to the investigation, the KPK will evaluate the implementation of sting operations to minimise the potential for information leaks in future operations.
“We will also evaluate whether, when going to the field, we should not go together or in a group, or something like that, to avoid parties outside from suspecting something and then the information reaching our target,” he added.
