KPK Investigates Money Flow from Sudewo to Transport Ministry Officials in DJKA Case
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the alleged flow of money from Sudewo, the suspect in the corruption case concerning railway line procurement at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) and former Member of Commission V of the DPR, to officials in the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) via Robby Kurniawan, Special Staff to the Transport Minister.
The matter was delved into by the KPK during the examination of a witness named Bambang Irawan Dg Irate Djamal on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
“This examination focused on the alleged provision of money from SDW (Sudewo) to RB (Robby Kurniawan/Special Staff to the Transport Minister from 2016-2024), which had previously been examined,” said Budi at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
Additionally, investigators suspect that money was channelled by Sudewo to parties in Kemenhub related to the railway line construction project in East Java.
“From RB, it is alleged that the money flowing from SDW crossed over to parties in the Ministry of Transportation, which oversees DJKA, related to the implementation of railway line construction projects, including the railway line construction in East Java,” he stated.
He said that from preliminary examinations, Robby is one of the parties who received money from Sudewo through an intermediary.
“From today’s examination, there is an allegation of money flow from SDW through an intermediary, then to RB. Then from RB, whether it flowed back from this provision of money to parties on the giver’s side. Well, we will trace further whether it stops at RB or continues,” he said.
Budi stated that the examination of Sudewo is to complement the examinations of several previous witnesses, which were also delved into regarding Sudewo’s role in the case.
“Previously, investigators conducted marathon examinations of parties in DJKA as well as private sector parties, delving into the procurement process and mechanisms for goods and services within the scope of DJKA,” he said.
