Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the foreign currency exchanges or foreign exchange transactions carried out by the suspended Regent of Pekalongan, Fadia Arafiq (FAR).

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the tracing was conducted by examining two witnesses on Tuesday, 5 May 2026, namely LAA, a staff member of Fadia Arafiq’s family company PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya, and IS, a private sector individual.

“The examination relates to asset tracing, specifically regarding the foreign exchange transactions carried out by the suspect FAR, the suspended Regent of Pekalongan,” Budi told journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Budi said the KPK suspects that the exchanged funds are related to the case ensnaring Fadia Arafiq.

Previously, on 3 March 2026, the KPK arrested Fadia Arafiq along with her aide and trusted associate in the Semarang area, Central Java. Additionally, the KPK secured 11 other individuals in Pekalongan, Central Java.

The series of arrests was part of the KPK’s seventh hand-catch operation (OTT) in 2026, coinciding with the month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah.

On 4 March 2026, the KPK named Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect in the alleged corruption case related to the procurement of outsourcing services or contract labour, and other procurements within the Pekalongan Regency Government for the 2023-2026 fiscal years.

The KPK suspects Fadia Arafiq of involvement in a conflict of interest by having her family’s company, PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya (RNB), win several procurements within the Pekalongan Regency Government.

Fadia Arafiq and her family are said to have received Rp19 billion from those procurement contracts. This breaks down to Rp13.7 billion purely enjoyed by the singer of the song Cik Cik Bum Bum and her family, Rp2.3 billion distributed to the Director of PT RNB who is also the ART named Rul Bayatun, and Rp3 billion from cash withdrawals that have not yet been distributed.
