KPK Investigates Communications Between Pati DPRD Chairman and Sudewo on Impeachment Issue

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the communication between the Chairman of the Pati Regency Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), Ali Badrudin (ALB), and Sudewo (SDW) when he served as the Regent of Pati, regarding the issue of impeachment of regional heads in the area.

“From the DPRD side, we are examining or investigating the conversations or communications that took place between Mr. SDW and parties within the DPRD, specifically regarding the plan or issue of impeachment that was circulating at the time,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday (24 February).

According to Budi, the material examined from the Chairman of the Pati DPRD, which took place on 24 February 2026, will continue to be investigated by KPK investigators.

“This will certainly also be material that will be further investigated by the investigators,” he said.

Previously, on 19 January 2026, the KPK confirmed that it had conducted an operation to catch people in the act of committing a crime (OTT) in Pati Regency, and arrested the Regent of Pati, Sudewo.

On 20 January 2026, the KPK brought Sudewo, along with seven other people, to the KPK’s Merah Putih Building, Jakarta.

On the same date, the KPK announced four suspects in the case of alleged corruption related to extortion in the filling of village official positions within the Pati Regency Government.

They are the Regent of Pati, Sudewo (SDW); the Head of Karangrowo Village, Jakenan District, Abdul Suyono (YON); the Head of Arumanis Village, Jaken District, Sumarjiono (JION); and the Head of Sukorukun Village, Jaken District, Karjan (JAN).

In addition, the KPK announced that Sudewo is a suspect in the case of alleged bribery related to the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
