KPK Investigates Alleged Foreign Currency Exchange Request from Corruption Suspect in K3 Certification Case
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is delving into allegations of a request for foreign currency (valas) exchange made by one of the suspects in the case of alleged extortion related to occupational safety and health (K3) certification services to private parties.
This matter was explored by the KPK during the examination of five witnesses in the case on Thursday (7/5/2026).
“This includes private parties who were also allegedly asked to carry out foreign currency exchanges by one of the suspects in this case to be given to certain individuals in the Ministry of Manpower,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta.
He also stated that today’s examination of the witnesses aims to complete the case file for three new suspects.
“This case is also a development from the previous investigation that began with a sting operation, in which the investigators have subsequently named three new suspects,” he said.
Previously, the KPK examined Christianus Heru Widyanto, Director of Communication and Industrial Relations Outreach (KPPHI) at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker), as a witness in the alleged extortion case for K3 certification services involving former Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer, alias Noel.
“The examination was conducted at the KPK Merah Putih Building,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement earlier.
In addition, the KPK also summoned other witnesses, namely Ferdeli as the Commitment Making Official (PPK) of the Directorate General of Occupational Safety and Health Supervision and K3; John Hendrik as a private individual; Elisabeth Meta Suryani as a private individual; and Theo Dora Setiono as a private individual.
The KPK named three suspects in December 2025 in the extortion case related to K3 (Occupational Safety and Health) certification services involving former Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer alias Noel.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo mentioned that the three suspects, namely CFH, HR, and SMS, have also been prohibited from leaving the country.
“The KPK has named three new suspects,” said Budi at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on 11 December 2025.
“A travel ban or cekal has been imposed on CFH, HR, and SMS,” he said.
