KPK Investigates 13 Witnesses in Sudewo Case Regarding Procurement of Goods and Services in Pati

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned 13 witnesses in the alleged extortion case involving the inactive Regent of Pati, Sudewo (SDW), regarding the procurement of goods and services within the Pati Regency government in Central Java.

“The witnesses were questioned as former members of the campaign team, the ‘eight-member team’, or the transition team of the Regent of Pati, and regarding their involvement in decision-making and the planning of the procurement of goods and services in Pati Regency,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

In addition, Budi said that the KPK asked the witnesses to explain the process of filling village official positions in Pati in 2026. Furthermore, they were questioned about the requests and collection of funds allegedly ordered by Sudewo.

The 13 witnesses questioned by the KPK include the former Vice Regent of Pati, Saiful Arifin; the former Chairman of the Pati Regency DPRD (Regional People’s Representative Council) and a member of the campaign team, Sunarwi; AE and TON, who were also members of the campaign team. Also questioned were a former member of the Pati DPRD with the initials AS; and a member of the Supervisory Board of the RAA Soewondo General Hospital in Pati with the initials MAN.

Furthermore, ES, who is the Head of Perdopo Village; SUS, who is the Head of Gajihan Village; TAF, who is the Head of Pundenrejo Village; SUY, who is the Head of Gesegan Village; WE, who is the Head of Mojo Village; YUN, who is the Head of Dororejo Village; and DT, who is the Head of Batursari Village, were also questioned.

Previously, on January 19, 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) against Sudewo in Pati Regency.

On January 20, 2026, the KPK brought Sudewo along with seven other individuals to the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta.

On the same date, the KPK announced four suspects in the alleged corruption case related to extortion in the filling of village official positions within the Pati Regency government. They are Sudewo (SDW); the Head of Karangrowo Village, Jakenan District, Abdul Suyono (YON); the Head of Arumanis Village, Jaken District, Sumarjiono (JION); and the Head of Sukorukun Village, Jaken District, Karjan (JAN).

In addition, the KPK announced that Sudewo is also a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
