KPK interrogates Rita and Robert regarding East Kalimantan coal gratification case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has interrogated the former Regent of Kutai Kartanegara, Rita Widyasari (RW), and businessman Robert Priantono Bonosusatya (RPI) as witnesses in the investigation of alleged gratification related to coal production in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the anti-corruption agency also summoned the General Chairman of the National Leadership Council of Pemuda Pancasila, Japto Soerjosoemarno (JS), and the Chairman of the East Kalimantan Regional Leadership Council of Pemuda Pancasila, as well as Borneo FC advisor, Said Amin (SA), for questioning. However, both individuals were unable to attend the summons due to illness.
“RW and RPI have already been questioned. Furthermore, investigators have received information that JS and SA are currently unwell,” Budi told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Budi added that the KPK will reschedule the examinations for Japto and Said Amin to obtain their statements as witnesses in the case.
Previously, on Tuesday (2/6), the KPK interrogated five witnesses regarding non-tax state revenue (PNBP) from mining production in the Kutai Kartanegara region. These witnesses included the Director General of Forestry Planning of the Ministry of Forestry, Ade Tri Ajikusumah; the Secretary of the Directorate General of Minerals and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Totoh Abdul Fatah; a Senior Officer of PT Pacific Global Utama for the 2005-2022 period, identified by the initials LM; a civil servant at the Kutai Kartanegara Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency, identified by the initials ADS; and the President Director of PT Alamjaya Barapratama, Endri Erawan.
Endri is also known to be the brother-in-law of Rita Widyasari.
Rita is alleged to have received bribes amounting to Rp6 billion in connection with the granting of location permits for oil palm plantations to PT Sawit Golden Prima in Kupang Baru Village, Muara Kaman District. On 16 January 2018, the KPK named Rita and Khairudin as suspects in an alleged money laundering crime.
Subsequently, on 19 February 2025, the KPK revealed that Rita is also alleged to have received fund flows related to coal mining of approximately 5 US dollars per metric ton of coal. On 19 February 2026, the KPK named three corporations as suspects in the alleged gratification case related to coal production in Kutai Kartanegara, namely PT Sinar Kumala Naga, PT Alamjaya Barapratama, and PT Bara Kumala Sakti.
