Jakarta — Indonesia’s Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) interrogated Pancasila Youth (PP) chairman Japto Soerjosoemarno as a witness in an alleged gratification case linked to coal production per metric tonne in Kutai Kartanegara on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

According to Kompas.com observations, Japto Soerjosoemarno arrived at the KPK’s Red and White Building at 09.00 Western Indonesia Time, wearing a layered batik shirt and black jacket, accompanied by several associates.

“Yes, today the investigators have scheduled the interrogation of witness JP (Japto Soerjosoemarno) in the alleged corruption gratification case in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, with corporate suspects,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when confirmed on Tuesday.

The companies in question are PT Sinar Kumala Naga (AKN), PT Alamjaya Barapratama (ABP), and PT Bara Kumala Sakti (BKS).

The three companies are suspected of receiving gratification together with Rita Widyasari.

In this case, Rita is alleged to have received between USD 3.3 and USD 5 per metric tonne of coal mined.

KPK Investigation Director Asep Guntur Rahayu stated that this rate represented the value of gratification that Rita allegedly received from the mining companies.

Asep said the money subsequently flowed to numerous individuals currently under investigation by the KPK.

Rita is a regional leader who also bribed KPK investigator Stephanus Robin Pattuju. She is currently a convicted offender in a gratification case involving 110 billion rupiah and palm oil licensing bribery in Kutai Kartanegara.
