KPK Interrogates Labour Ministry Secretary General on Appointment Process of Three Suspects
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) probed the appointment process of three suspects in an alleged extortion case involving Occupational Safety and Health (K3) certification when examining Ministry of Manpower Secretary General Cris Kuntadi on Wednesday, 25 February.
The three suspects are Chairul Fadly Harahap, Secretary of the Directorate General of Labour Guidance, Supervision, and Occupational Safety and Health (Binwasnaker & K3); Haiyani Rumondang, former Director General of Binwasnaker & K3; and Sunardi Manampiar Sinaga, former Head of Public Relations of the Ministry of Manpower.
“Investigators requested information regarding the appointment of the suspects in this case,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Wednesday, 25 February.
“Additionally, investigators also examined the witness’s knowledge regarding requests or receipt of money related to K3 certification issuance for parties at the Ministry of Manpower,” he added.
Similar material was also examined through witness Daafi Armanda, Head of Building Construction Section at the Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health Standards (PNK3) of the Ministry of Manpower, and Dayoena Ivon Muriono, a PPPK official at the General Bureau of the Ministry’s Secretary General.
The KPK had also scheduled examination of the leader of SAV Money Changer. However, as of the time of writing, there was no information regarding the examination details.
The KPK has not detained the three suspects in this case, but has imposed a travel ban abroad for six months effective from 5 December 2025.
One strong piece of evidence found by investigators is alleged fund flows related to K3 certification handling to the suspects.
Previously, the KPK had processed 11 other suspects in an alleged extortion and/or graft case related to K3 certification handling.
The suspects in question include Immanuel Ebenezer, former Deputy Minister of Manpower, and Irvian Bobby Mahendro, a Commitment-Making Official at the Directorate General of Binwasnaker & K3.
Also included are Gerry Aditya Herwanto Putra, coordinator of occupational safety competency testing and evaluation field from 2022 to present; Subhan, sub-coordinator of occupational safety at the Directorate of K3 Development from 2020 to 2025; Hery Sutanto, Director of Institutional Development from 2021 to February 2025; Anitasari Kusumawati, sub-coordinator of occupational health partnerships and personnel from 2020 to present; and Fahrurozi, Director General of Binwasnaker & K3 from March 2025 to present.
Also Sekarsari Kartika Putri, sub-coordinator; Supriadi, coordinator; Temurila, representative of PT Kem Indonesia; and Miki Mahfud, also representing PT Kem Indonesia.
Their cases have been brought to court for examination and trial.
