The Corruption Eradability Commission (KPK) interrogated the Director of Customs Facilities at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance, Susila Brata, as a witness in an alleged corruption case involving case development within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, on Monday (5/10).

Brata responded to the investigators’ summons and is currently undergoing examination.

“The examination is being conducted at the KPK Merah Putih Building under the name: SB,” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo via a written statement on Monday (5/10).

In addition to Brata, the KPK has also scheduled examinations for two other witnesses, Benny Tan and James Mondong, both of whom are entrepreneurs.

Regarding Benny, he is an alcoholic beverage entrepreneur. On Monday (5/10) morning, Benny provided testimony during the trial at the Corruption Crimes Court (Tipikor) of the Central Jakarta District Court for the defendant Budiman Bayu Prasojo, who serves as the Head of the Excise Intelligence, Enforcement, and Investigation Section of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.

The KPK has issued two new Investigation Orders (Sprindik) related to the suspected corruption within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.

One Investigation Order names Gatot Heroe Hernanda, the Head of the Kediri Customs and Excise Surveillance and Service Office, as a suspect. A second Investigation Order has been issued, though no suspect has been named yet.

Previously, based on legal facts revealed during the trial, KPK prosecutors believe that the owner of Blueray Cargo (Group), John Field, and his subordinates, Dedy Kurniawan Sukolo and Andri, have been proven to have committed the crimes as charged. Specifically, they allegedly bribed several officials within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise to ensure that imported goods belonging to Blueray Cargo (Group) could exit the customs supervision process more quickly.

During the trial, several other names emerged who are alleged to have received funds but have not yet faced legal proceedings. These include Ahmad Dedi, also known as Dedi Congor, who is alleged to have received IDR 30 billion, and the Director General of Customs and Excise, Djaka Budhi Utama, who is alleged to have received IDR 21 billion.
