KPK Interrogates 8 Village Heads Over Alleged Money Collections Ordered by Pati Regent Sudewo
The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has questioned 8 village heads (kades) in connection with alleged extortion related to the appointment of village officials ensnaring Pati Regent Sudewo. The KPK investigated allegations of money collections ordered by Sudewo.
“We examined allegations concerning the transfer of money on the orders of the Regent through a village head coordinator,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists on Friday (27 February 2026).
Additionally, witnesses were asked to explain the process of appointing village officials. A total of 14 witnesses were questioned, including the 8 village heads.
“The witnesses were asked to explain the process and mechanism of appointing Village Officials in Pati Regency in 2026,” he stated.
The KPK has named four suspects in the case, one of whom is Pati Regent Sudewo. The KPK suspects Sudewo set a price of 125-150 million rupiah for each prospective village official. This rate was subsequently increased by his subordinates to 165-225 million rupiah for each candidate position. The KPK seized a total of 2.6 billion rupiah in connection with the case.
Sudewo also formed a team called the ‘Team 8’, which consisted of his campaign team members.
The four suspects in the extortion case involving prospective village officials in Pati are:
Sudewo, as Pati Regent for the 2025-2030 period
Abdul Suyono, as village head of Karangrowo, Jakenan District
Sumarjiono, as village head of Arumanis, Jaken District
Karjan, as village head of Sukorukun, Jaken District
