KPK Identifies Suspects Following Sting Operation Against Muara Enim Regent Over Procurement Bribery
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has identified suspects following a sting operation (OTT) in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. Consequently, the case has been elevated to the investigation stage.
“Regarding the series of events involving the sting operation during a closed investigation in the South Sumatra region last night, an exposé has been conducted,” stated KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists on Tuesday (9/6/2026).
Based on the results of that exposé, investigators have gathered evidence concerning alleged corruption in Muara Enim. The evidence is considered strong enough to designate the involved parties as suspects.
“Based on the sufficiency of the preliminary evidence obtained, it has been decided that this case will proceed to the investigation stage to subsequently name the parties as suspects,” said Budi.
