Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has announced that it has conducted a case exposure following the sentencing of suspects in the alleged corruption case within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transport for the Medan region, North Sumatra, by a panel of judges on 25 June 2026. The suspects involved are Muhlis Hanggani Capah and Eddy Kurniawan Winarto.

“The trial for the Medan DJKA case has concluded, and we are reporting that some time ago, a case exposure was held for further investigation development,” said the Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, on Friday.

According to Taufik, the case exposure was carried out to discuss the facts presented during the trials of Muhlis and Eddy. He further indicated that the exposure has resulted in several decisions, though the specific outcomes cannot be disclosed to the public at this time.

“Decisions have been reached within the exposure forum. There may subsequently be the issuance of investigation orders, and we will provide updates once the administrative processes are complete,” he said.

Taufik made these statements when questioned by journalists regarding the fate of the former Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), Akbar Himawan Buchari, after his name surfaced during the sentencing of Muhlis and Eddy. In the trial of the two defendants, Akbar Buchari is alleged to have received up to Rp3.5 billion in relation to the Ministry of Transport’s DJKA case.
