The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed it has interviewed 20 freight forwarders or cargo logistics companies while handling a case involving alleged bribery in importation and receipt of gratuities within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise under the Ministry of Finance. The KPK has been processing senior executives from PT Blueray Cargo (Group), a company operating in transportation, logistics, supply chain, and import storage of goods from various countries to Indonesia.

Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, stated during an interview after the Pancasila Day ceremony at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday (1 June): “We have requested statements from several officials of other freight forwarders. Some may have been interviewed on the spot or met here when they were summoned as witnesses. We are currently investigating, with around 20 freight forwarders nationwide.”

The two-star police general added that investigators are seeking other freight forwarders suspected of bribing Customs officials, using witness testimonies to gather more information. “In reality, it’s not just Blueray. We will investigate other forwarders while awaiting testimonies from ongoing court proceedings,” he said.

According to CNNIndonesia.com, KPK investigators have proceeded to question witnesses and conducted forced searches and seizures. At Tanjung Emas Port in Semarang, the KPK searched and seized containers allegedly owned by importers affiliated with Blueray. The containers contained goods classified as prohibited or restricted imports, specifically vehicle spare parts.

The KPK also conducted a search at the residence of customs entrepreneur Heri Setiyono, alias Heri Black, on Monday (11 May), seizing notes and electronic evidence. Previously, the KPK seized evidence from the President Director of PT Sinkos Multimedia Mandiri, Faizal Assegaf, including an Apple Mac computer with Magic Keyboard and Mouse, a Lumix S5IIX mirrorless camera with spare battery, monitor, and a Boss WL-30XLR wireless microphone system.

The KPK has charged at least seven individuals in connection with the alleged import bribery and gratuity case. These include former Director of Investigation and Enforcement for the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (2024-January 2026) Rizal; Head of the Intelligence Enforcement and Investigation Subdirectorate (Kasubdit Intel P2 DJBC) Sisprian Subiaksono; Head of Intelligence Section for the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Kasi Intel DJBC) Orlando; Blueray Import Documentation Team Leader Andri; Customs Department employee Budiman Bayu Prasojo; Blueray owner John Field; and Blueray Operations Manager Dedy Kurniawan. All suspects are currently detained at the KPK’s state prison. PT Blueray is currently facing trial at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) of the Central Jakarta District Court.
