KPK Has Not Named Suspects in Bogor Regency Sting Operation

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has conducted a case review or expose related to the sting operation (OTT) in Bogor Regency, West Java.

The KPK has decided to use a general investigation warrant (Sprindik Umum) in handling the Bogor case. This means that suspects will be identified as the investigation progresses.

“From the series of investigative activities carried out last night, a case review was conducted at the leadership level and it was decided that the case should be elevated to the investigation stage,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, Friday (21/8).

“However, a general investigation warrant is still being used at this time. This means that no suspects have been named in the case yet,” he continued.

Budi stated that the investigative activities carried out in Bogor Regency were related to receipts obtained by state officials from deductions of levies collected at the Revenue Agency.

“At this time we have not named any parties as suspects because it is still under a general investigation warrant. Of course, later during the investigation stage, investigators will delve deeper to identify and complete the necessary evidence so that the parties responsible for the alleged corruption will be named,” he said.

Budi added that during the operation, the investigation team found and secured evidence in the form of cash amounting to approximately Rp1.5 billion, allegedly related to the case.

“It is true that a sum of money was secured during the series of investigative activities, with a value of around Rp1.5 billion. The money secured at the investigation stage will of course later be confiscated at the investigation stage and examined further, so that in the process of deepening the case, investigators will need to seek confirmation from parties believed to know how the case was constructed,” Budi explained.
