KPK Has Not Closed the Door on Supervising Former Jampidsus Febrie's Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not closed the door on supervising the case of former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Ardiansyah. The case has been handed over by the Indonesian National Police to the Attorney General’s Office. The KPK believes it can still supervise Febrie’s case, as stipulated in Law Number 19 of 2019 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission. “Indeed, there is a possibility for the KPK together with other law enforcement agencies to coordinate or supervise a case handling,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Tuesday (14/7/2026). The KPK explained that the legal basis for this authority is contained in Article 6 of Law Number 19 of 2019 regarding the main duties and functions of the KPK. Under this provision, the KPK can coordinate with authorised agencies to eradicate corruption and supervise law enforcement officers handling corruption cases. “In the context of coordination and supervision, we have often done this. A number of cases, both at the central and regional levels, we coordinate when law enforcement officers face obstacles or need support from the KPK, for example to present experts to provide various views and analysis in the investigation process,” Budi stated.
