The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named suspects in connection with the Operation Tangkap Tangan (OTT) carried out in the early hours in Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday (3/3). KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the agency has elevated the case to the prosecution stage and that there is a legal status for those detained in the OTT. ‘In the continuation of closed investigative activities in the Pekalongan region, last night an exposé was conducted, and the case was declared to have moved up to the prosecution stage. The KPK has also established the legal status for the individuals detained, within twenty-four hours,’ Budi said in a written statement, Wednesday (4/3). Regarding the names of the suspects, Budi said details would be provided at a press conference to be held. ‘For the chronology, construction, and the individuals designated as suspects, we will provide the full details later through a press conference,’ he said. Previously, the OTT was known to involve the regional head and government officials in Pekalongan Regency, Central Java. The KPK arrested Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq along with aides and their confidants. After conducting initial investigations in Pekalongan, the KPK brought 11 people, consisting of Civil Servants (ASN) of the Pekalongan Regency Government, to Jakarta. One of them was the Regional Secretary (Sekda) Mohammad Yulian Akbar. They arrived at the KPK’s Red and White Building in South Jakarta on Tuesday night around 21:00 WIB.
