Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) handed over two apartments worth Rp3.52 billion, which are state-confiscated assets from a case that has attained final and binding legal force or inkrah, to the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas). The handover was conducted by the KPK through the mechanism of determining usage status and granting, as an effort to ensure that confiscated assets are not left idle while adding value for state interests. “Confiscated assets from law enforcement can be optimised for state interests while strengthening accountability through transparent mechanisms oriented towards utility value,” said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto in Jakarta on Monday. On a separate occasion, KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the assets handed over by the anti-corruption agency would be utilised by Lemhannas for national leadership education. “Both assets handed over will be used to support national leadership education and the strengthening of national values,” said Budi. Meanwhile, Lemhannas Governor Tubagus Ace Hasan Syadzily said his institution would manage the assets optimally, transparently, and responsibly, including to support national leadership education and the strengthening of national values. The two assets are a 150-square-metre apartment unit in the Jalan Pintu Satu Senayan area worth Rp2.1 billion and a 92-square-metre apartment unit in FX Residence worth Rp1.42 billion. Both apartments are located in South Jakarta. The assets are part of the confiscated items in the corruption case involving defendants Puput Tantriana and Hasan Aminuddin, as per the decision of the Surabaya Corruption Court in East Java. Both are former Regents of Probolinggo. The handover is based on the decision of the Ministry of Finance through the Directorate General of State Assets of the DKI Jakarta Regional Office, and the management officially transferred since the signing of the handover minutes.
