KPK hands over two case files involving the inactive Pati Regent Sudewo to the Public Prosecutor's Office
Thus there are two case files under investigation, one for the DJKA matter and one for the Pati matter, KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters at the Merah Putih KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. ‘Thus, at the prosecution stage, the Public Prosecutor’s Office will prepare its indictment files within a maximum of 14 days, and it is possible to merge the indictments,’ he added. Budi explained that, based on the KUHAP, prosecutors are allowed to merge multiple case files to improve the efficiency of handling the cases. ‘So indeed, based on KUHAP, the JPU can merge indictment files for several investigation case files. This ensures that the handling of cases, both in DJKA and Pati, can proceed effectively,’ Budi said. KPK has named the inactive Pati Regent Sudewo as a suspect in this matter. The KPK said Sudewo was named as a suspect in his capacity as a former member of the DPR RI’s Commission V. Sudewo was also named as a suspect in the extortion case over the appointment of village officials during his tenure as Pati Regent. The KPK suspects Sudewo charged candidates a fee of Rp 125-150 million.
