KPK Guarantees No Data Remains on Ex-Corruptor's iPhone XS Sold for Rp 34 Million
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has auctioned an iPhone XS with a reserve price of Rp 231,000, which ultimately sold for Rp 34 million. The commission has guaranteed that all data on the former corruptor’s phone has been erased.

KPK Guarantees Data Has Been Erased
Mungki Hadipratikto, Director of Asset Tracing, Evidence Management, and Execution (Labuksi) at the KPK, stated that the data on the iPhone XS sold for Rp 34 million had been wiped. He explained the process was similar to a factory reset.
“Before the auction, we cooperated with the KPK’s Electronic Evidence Laboratory to carry out a data deletion mechanism first, so the phone being auctioned has its data emptied beforehand, like a factory reset,” Mungki said when contacted on Monday (22/6/2026).
Mungki noted there is a five-day deadline for the winning bidder to complete payment, which is 25 June 2026. However, the winner has not yet paid for the iPhone. “We are still waiting until 25 June as the payment deadline. The deadline for paying the auction fee is five working days after being designated as the winner, or 25 June 2026,” he said.
