KPK Follows Up on Alleged Corruption in Tebo PKKPR Issuance
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has followed up on a public complaint regarding alleged corruption in the issuance of spatial utilisation activity suitability permits (PKKPR) in Tebo Regency, Jambi.
“We ensure that every public complaint is followed up with an initial verification to determine whether the information and initial data provided are valid or not,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.
After that, said Budi, the KPK will verify or review the public complaint.
“The KPK will also proactively carry out ‘pulbaket’, the collection of additional supporting material, so that this public complaint becomes more complete,” he said.
In a separate statement, the Chairman of Amanah Rakyat Indonesia (AMATIR), Nardo Pasaribo, who filed the report, explained that his organisation suspected corruption had occurred in the issuance of PKKPR in Tebo Regency.
“AMATIR suspects that a series of legal violations and administrative irregularities have taken place,” he said.
He suspected there had been abuse of authority in the issuance of the PKKPR. In addition, gratification practices or corrupt collusion are also suspected to involve a number of regional officials, along with alleged document falsification.
Therefore, he urged the KPK to conduct an investigation into the issuance of the PKKPR. He also asked the anti-corruption body to summon those suspected of being involved.
