The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is following up on public complaints regarding alleged criminal acts of corruption in 32 project packages under the Muaro Jambi Regency Government.

“We ensure that every complaint will be followed up by verifying the validity of the information and data submitted,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Following this, Budi stated that the KPK team will review or analyse whether the public complaints contain elements of alleged corruption and whether the anti-corruption agency has the authority to investigate them.

Therefore, he noted that the KPK team will proactively collect materials and information to enrich the details of the report.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the outcome of the follow-up on these public complaints could result in enforcement, prevention, education, or coordination and supervision with relevant stakeholders.

“As a form of accountability, the KPK conveys every progress update specifically and only to the reporting party,” he added.

Previously, Barisan 8 Center Jambi reported the alleged corruption on 1 September 2026.

The Chairman of Barisan 8 Center Jambi, Karyadi, explained that the report was filed because of highlighted irregularities in the procurement process for 32 project packages within the Muaro Jambi Regency Government environment.

Additionally, he alleged that the case could result in state financial losses of up to Rp50 billion.
