The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has found a Toyota Land Cruiser suspected of being a bribe for Kuansing Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby. The luxury SUV was discovered in a warehouse in Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the vehicle was found during searches conducted from 4 to 6 July 2026 in Kuansing Singingi and Pekanbaru. When found, the vehicle’s number plates had been changed. The Land Cruiser LC 300, a 2023 model, is alleged to have been given as a bribe by a suspect named Zulkarnain to the regent. The vehicle has since been transported to Jakarta. In addition to the vehicle, investigators secured documents and electronic evidence during the searches. Locations searched included the Regent’s office, the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) office, the Plantation Office, and the homes of the suspects, including the Head of the Plantation Office. In Pekanbaru, an expedition office was also searched. The KPK previously revealed that the regent attempted to hide the vehicle by selling it to a private party after realising he was being monitored by the commission. The acting Director of Investigations stated that the vehicle was sold to a showroom owned by a private individual, and evidence of the payment transactions for the vehicle has been seized. The KPK has named three suspects in the case: the Regent of Kuansing, the Regional Secretary of Kuansing, and a company director.
