KPK Finds Clues of Alleged BPK RI Intervention During Search of BPK South Sumatra Office

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has found clues regarding alleged intervention from the central Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK RI) after searching the BPK’s South Sumatra Provincial Representative Office. “On Tuesday (23/6), investigators searched the BPK South Sumatra Office. During the search, investigators secured a number of pieces of evidence, including clues of alleged intervention from the central BPK to alter the audit findings,” KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters in Jakarta on Thursday. In addition, investigators seized audit working paper documents related to the change of an audit opinion from qualified (WDP) to unqualified (WTP), specifically concerning the Muara Enim Regency Government in South Sumatra. Investigators also secured documents related to an alleged attempt to alter the audit results again after a sting operation that ensnared the inactive Muara Enim Regent, Edison. “Investigators will certainly analyse every piece of evidence secured in this search,” Budi said. The discovery is part of the development of the investigation into a bribery case implicating Edison. Previously, the KPK arrested 10 people in a sting operation on 7–8 June 2026. Five people were arrested in Jakarta and five others in South Sumatra. In the KPK’s 12th sting operation of 2026, Edison was one of those detained. On 9 June 2026, the KPK named four suspects in a bribery case related to the procurement of goods and services and other gratuities within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. The four suspects are Edison; Abi Nurwardani, Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office; Cory Erin Hardi, a marketing employee of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi; and Adi Triyadi, Edison’s nephew. The KPK then conducted a follow-up sting operation on 10 June 2026 and arrested five civil servants from BPK RI. That operation was the 13th sting operation carried out by the KPK in 2026. On 11 June 2026, the KPK named five suspects in a bribery case related to the conditioning of a BPK audit of the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025 fiscal year. They are Edison, Cory Erin Hardi, PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Director Fika, Augusz Dewanggara—a private party who was once an expert staff member for a member of the House of Representatives and is now assigned to BPK RI—and BPK RI civil servant Titin Rita Lestari, who previously served as Head of the BPK South Sumatra Audit Team.
