The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has disclosed that PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya (RNB), a company owned by the family of Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq, monopolised the provision of patient meals and related logistics at three Regional General Hospitals (RSUDs) in Pekalongan. Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu said investigators found a contract between PT RNB and the RSUDs listing the family company as the main supplier of patient meal logistics. ‘PT RNB is also a supplier for meals and drinks or the procurement of meals and drinks at three RSUDs,’ he stated.

Investigators found a collaboration between PT RNB and the Pekalongan RSUDs, with the Fadia family listed as the supplier of vegetables and fruits for patients. ‘But specifically for basic supplies such as vegetables, fruits, rice, and so on — yes, for the patients there,’ he said.

Only Fadia has been named a suspect so far; she is detained for the first 20 days. Fadia is alleged to have benefited from PT RNB and intervened with the head of department to win the outsourcing services contract in Pekalongan Regency. She allegedly instructed multiple agencies, sub-districts and the regional hospitals to use PT RNB for outsourcing needs. The company reportedly won contracts even when other bidders offered cheaper prices. In the process, village units were instructed to submit their own estimated prices (HPS) to PT RNB up front, with the family firm then adjusting its bid to match the quoted figure.

Investigators say PT RNB has expanded to 17 local government units, three RSUDs and one district within Pekalongan Regency. From 2023 to 2026, the total value of projects secured by the Fadia family’s company reached Rp46 billion.

The KPK’s case against Bupati Pekalongan Fadia Arafiq illustrates the complexity of corruption patterns in Indonesia. The agency also warned that artists entering politics must learn governance and administration, in response to Fadia’s claim of lack of law knowledge due to her background as a dangdut singer.

KPK is seeking additional evidence to identify further suspects in the tender case involving Fadia Arafiq. It has also said that the family-owned company dominated public procurement for goods and services in Pekalongan Regency during 2025. Fadia is alleged to have used the family company to win outsourcing service contracts in Pekalongan Regency, Central Java. The investigation also indicates that her husband and child received money related to the alleged offences.
