KPK Extends Travel Ban for Rudy Tanoe in Social Assistance Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has requested the Directorate General of Immigration to extend the travel ban for the Commissioner of PT Dosni Roha Logistik (DNRL), Bambang Rudijanto Tanoesoedibjo, also known as Rudy Tanoe, for another six months.

The initial travel ban period expired in mid-February.

“In the investigation of this case involving three individuals who have been named as suspects, the travel ban has been extended,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK office in Jakarta on Wednesday (February 25) evening.

The extension of the travel ban also applies to two other suspects in the alleged corruption case involving the distribution of social assistance rice, namely Edi Suharto and Kanisius Jerry Tengker.

One other individual, Herry Tho, who was previously subject to a travel ban for the first six-month period, is now free to travel. As of now, Herry Tho remains a witness.

According to the provisions of the new Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), travel bans only apply to suspects. This provision had drawn criticism from the KPK during the drafting of the KUHAP.

“Mr. HT [Herry Tho], because his status is still as a witness, the travel ban has not been extended,” explained Budi.

Budi added that investigators will certainly summon Rudy Tanoe and others to be questioned as suspects.

This follows the decision by the sole judge at the South Jakarta District Court, Lukman Ahmad, who rejected Rudy Tanoe’s pre-trial motion on Monday, December 15, 2025.

At that time, the KPK had stated that it was waiting for the outcome of the pre-trial process before questioning Rudy Tanoe.

“Of course, this will also be scheduled by the investigators regarding the request for information or questioning of the suspect, Mr. RT [Rudy Tanoe],” said Budi.

The KPK has named a total of three individuals and two corporations as suspects in the alleged corruption case involving the distribution of social assistance rice, which involves the Ministry of Social Affairs and PT Dosni Roha Logistik.

The KPK has not yet disclosed the detailed identities of the suspects.

However, Rudy Tanoe and Edi Suharto have already declared themselves as suspects.
