KPK Extends Detention Period of Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has extended the detention period of the inactive Regent of Pekalongan, Fadia Arafiq, for the next 30 days.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the extension of the detention was carried out because the initial detention period would expire on 2 May 2026.
“Today, Wednesday (29/4/2026), the investigators have carried out the second extension of the detention of suspect FAR, the former Regent of Pekalongan. This second detention extension is for 30 days ahead, effective from 3 May to 1 June 2026,” said Budi in his statement on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
Budi explained that the extension of Fadia Arafiq’s detention is needed by the investigators, considering that from the case which originated from a Handcatch Operation (OTT), several witnesses are still being examined to complete the investigation file.
Budi added that, in principle, the statements from each witness certainly help to clarify this case.
Previously, the KPK designated Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq as a suspect in the alleged corruption case involving the procurement of goods and services outsourcing within the Pekalongan Regency Government on Wednesday (4/3/2026).
In this case, Fadia is alleged to have been involved in a complete chain: establishing the family company PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya (RNB), participating in procurement projects within the Pekalongan Regency Government, directing subordinates to award contracts to her company, and then billions of rupiah in profits flowing back to her family circle.
Moreover, most of the employees of PT RNB were Fadia’s success team who were employed in several Pekalongan Regency Government agencies.
In 2025, PT RNB dominated procurement projects for goods and services in the Pekalongan Regency Government by handling outsourcing services procurement in 17 Regional Agencies, 3 Regional General Hospitals, and 1 Sub-District.
Looking further, from 2023 to 2026, there were incoming transactions to PT RNB worth Rp46 billion sourced from contracts between PT RNB and Regional Agencies in the Pekalongan Regency Government.
Then, from that money, only Rp22 billion was used for outsourcing employee salary payments.
The KPK subsequently detained Fadia Arafiq for the first 20 days from 4-23 March 2026 at the KPK’s Red and White Building Branch State Detention Centre.
For her actions, Fadia is charged with committing the criminal act of corruption as regulated in Article 12 letter i and Article 12 B of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on Amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 127 paragraph (1) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP).
