The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has exposed corrupt practices within Cilacap Regency Government. Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman (AUL) has been formally designated a suspect on suspicion of extortion and accepting gratification to finance Eid Holiday Allowance (THR) distributions.

Asep Guntur Rahayu, Deputy for Investigation and Prosecution at the KPK, revealed that Syamsul allegedly instructed the collection of funds from 23 regional agencies in Cilacap Regency. Within a short timeframe of 9–13 March 2026, Rp610 million was accumulated.

The fund collection was conducted in a systematic manner. Asep explained that Cilacap Regency’s Assistant II, Ferry Adhi Dharma (FER), served as the fund collector from the relevant government agencies.

“The money was placed into goodie bags, which were stored at FER’s private residence,” Asep Guntur stated at the KPK’s Red and White Building in South Jakarta on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

Based on investigation findings, the hundreds of millions of rupiah were to be submitted to Syamsul through the Cilacap Regional Secretary (Sekda), Sadmoko Danardono (SAD). These funds were being prepared for distribution to the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) as 2026 Eid bonuses.

In addition to designating Syamsul as a suspect, the KPK also named Regional Secretary Sadmoko Danardono as a suspect. Investigators also seized electronic devices as corroborating evidence. The KPK has now secured the Rp610 million in cash for further legal proceedings.
