KPK Explains Why Former Bank BJB CEO Yuddy Renaldi Was Not Detained
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) did not detain former President Director of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten, or Bank BJB, Yuddy Renaldi (YR) after questioning him today due to health reasons.
“Why has the individual not yet been detained, while four other suspects have already been detained? This is also a consideration by investigators regarding YR’s health condition,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to Budi, the KPK decided not to detain Yuddy Renaldi at least until this Thursday, or only temporarily.
“Investigators assessed YR’s health condition and then decided not to detain him, at least until today,” he said.
Therefore, Budi said the KPK will schedule the next examination of the suspect in the alleged corruption case involving Bank BJB advertising procurement for the 2021–2023 fiscal year.
“Yes, of course investigators still need to examine the individual because the investigation into this case is still progressing,” he said.
“The KPK also has doctors on standby 24 hours to provide support, including examinations required as part of the investigation process,” he added.
Meanwhile, after undergoing questioning by the KPK, Yuddy Renaldi asked the public to pray for his health.
“Just pray that I stay healthy in facing this process. That is all I can say,” he said.
Yuddy admitted to suffering from heart disease and prostate cancer.
The suspects are Bank BJB President Director Yuddy Renaldi (YR) and Commitment Making Officer (PPK) as well as Head of the Corporate Secretariat Division of Bank BJB Widi Hartoto (WH).
In addition, there are Antedja Muliatama and Cakrawala Kreasi Mandiri agency controller Ikin Asikin Dulmanan (IAD), BSC Advertising and Wahana Semesta Bandung Ekspress agency controller Suhendrik (SUH), and Cipta Karya Sukses Bersama and Cipta Karya Mandiri Bersama agency controller Elang Sophan Jaya Kusuma (SJK).
KPK investigators estimate that the alleged corruption case involving six advertising agencies caused state losses of approximately Rp223 billion.
As part of the investigation, the KPK on 10 March 2025 searched the home of former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and seized a number of items, including a motorcycle and a car.
Ridwan Kamil then complied with a KPK summons as a witness in the case on 2 December 2025.
On 10 August 2026, the KPK detained Widi, Ikin, Suhendrik, and Sophan. Meanwhile, Yuddy has not been detained because he is ill.
