KPK Explains Examination of Acting Mayor of Madiun in CSR Bribery Case Involving Maidi

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the Acting Mayor (Plt) of Madiun, Bagus Panuntun, yesterday (11/5) regarding the alleged corruption case implicating former Mayor of Madiun, Maidi. The examination of the Acting Mayor of Madiun aims to trace the flow of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds that were allegedly extorted from private parties. “The witness was questioned in depth about his knowledge related to the processes of planning and requesting CSR funds carried out by the suspect, the Mayor of Madiun, from private parties,” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a statement received on Tuesday (12/5/2026). Based on preliminary investigation results, the KPK found indications that the CSR funds were not channelled according to their intended purpose but instead became a requirement for private parties seeking or currently working on projects within the Madiun City Government environment. Budi explained that the private parties from whom Maidi requested funds are those with contractual ties to project implementations in East Java, particularly in the Madiun area.
