KPK Explains CCTV at Ono Surono's House Being Turned Off During Investigators' Check
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has provided clarification regarding the CCTV that was turned off during the search process at the home of West Java DPRD Deputy Chairman Ono Surono. The KPK stated that this is a common occurrence during searches.
“Regarding the CCTV, it is common,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
Budi explained that KPK investigators checked the CCTV in places deemed necessary. This, according to him, was done to obtain leads in the investigation process. He said the CCTV was turned off by the family or owner when investigators wanted to check it.
“During the checking process, the CCTV was then turned off by the family themselves,” Budi clarified.
He stated that Ono’s family was cooperative during the search at Ono’s home. He assured that KPK investigators asked the family or homeowner to witness the entire series of processes.
“Indeed, in every search conducted by the KPK, it is certainly accompanied by the family, and the search is also accompanied by local authorities,” Budi said.
He added that those witnessing the search also signed the seizure report. According to him, KPK investigators worked in accordance with the rules.
“Not only to accompany, because when there is evidence seized and confiscated, there is certainly a seizure report that must be signed. What does that mean? That the entire search process conducted by KPK investigators has been carried out in accordance with the procedures,” he continued.
Ono Surono’s home was searched by the KPK in connection with an alleged bribery case implicating Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang as a suspect. Ono holds the status of a witness in this case.
A total of three individuals have been designated as suspects, namely:
Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang
Ade Kuswara’s father, HM Kunang
Private party, Sarjan
Ade and HM Kunang are alleged to have received advance money for a project amounting to Rp 9.5 billion. KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, Asep Guntur Rahayu, stated that the project was planned to be carried out in 2026. The money was described as an advance for project guarantees.
