The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is continuing to expand its investigation into the alleged corruption case concerning Hajj quotas at the Ministry of Religious Affairs for the 2023-2024 period. In the latest development, investigators have examined King Yuwono, the Advisor to the Indonesian Wing Chun Federation, to probe suspected asset flows connected to the case. This examination is part of the KPK’s efforts to trace various assets believed to be linked to the suspects in the case, which is still under development. The move is also aimed at strengthening the process of recovering state financial losses incurred in the matter.

KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the examination of King Yuwono was focused on tracing assets allegedly related to the Hajj quota corruption case. He stated that investigators are currently deepening various pieces of information that could help uncover the movement of assets or financial flows suspected of being connected to the case. “The investigators are focusing on asset tracing. They confirmed several matters with the witness regarding the alleged flow of assets related to this case,” Budi Prasetyo said on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. The witness examination is part of the investigators’ strategy to obtain a more complete picture of the possible existence of assets linked to the criminal act of corruption currently being handled.

The name of the Indonesian Wing Chun Federation has drawn attention in the investigation because one of the main suspects in the case, former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, is known to have served as the General Chairman of the Indonesian Wing Chun Federation for two terms. However, the KPK has not yet concluded that there is a direct connection between the organisation and the criminal act under investigation. The examination of the federation’s advisor is being conducted as part of the process of deepening the information required by investigators. The KPK has emphasised that all information obtained will be verified and tested further before becoming part of the case’s construction. Investigators are currently also exploring the possibility of financial flows directed to parties outside the scope of the suspects who have been named.
