KPK Examines Two Witnesses in DJKA Case, Probes Project Fee Collection
In this examination, investigators delved into the witnesses’ knowledge regarding allegations of collecting project fees, which were then purportedly given to parties at the Ministry of Transportation, stated KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Friday (8/5/2026). The witness suspected of collecting project fees in the case is Ushadi Laksana, an employee of PT LRS (Len Railway Systems). Budi mentioned that the individual had a personal role in the fee collection. “This means that based on his knowledge, he is suspected of playing a role in the process of collecting project fees. So, the individual had a role on a personal level,” he said. The other witness is Muchamad Hicmat, owner of PT Dwifarita Fajarkharisma and PT Hapsaka Mas. The examination took place at the KPK building in Kuningan, Jakarta. The case began to unfold through a sting operation (OTT) on 11 April 2023 at the Central Java Railway Technical Office. The investigation by KPK has continued to develop, uncovering similar practices in West Java, North Sumatra, and Sulawesi. One of the suspects is the inactive Regent of Pati, Sudewo, as a suspect in the bribery case for the construction and maintenance of railway tracks. KPK stated that Sudewo was designated as a suspect in his capacity as a former member of Commission V of the DPR RI.
