Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned seven of the eight suspects in an expanded investigation into alleged corruption in road-construction projects in North Sumatra.

“The KPK has scheduled examinations of the suspects at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Thursday.

Budi said the suspects were former head of the North Sumatra National Road Implementation Agency (BBPJN) Stanley Cicero Haggard Tuapattinaja; former head of the BBPJN North Sumatra National Road Implementation Unit I, Rahmad Parulian; and former commitment-making officials at Unit I, Munson Ponter Paulus Hutauruk, Faisal and Heri Handoko.

The other suspects are former head of BBPJN North Sumatra National Road Implementation Unit II T. Rahmatsyah Putra and former commitment-making official at Unit II Manaek Manalu.

Budi said Dicky Erlangga, the former head of Unit I, did not attend Thursday’s summons.

“He did not attend the examination scheduled for today. Investigators will reschedule it shortly,” Budi said.

The case began with a KPK sting operation on 26 June 2025. Two days later, the commission named five people as suspects in a case divided into two clusters.

The five suspects were North Sumatra Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency head Topan Obaja Putra Ginting; Rasuli Efendi Siregar, head of the Gunung Tua Regional Technical Implementation Unit at the agency and a commitment-making official; Heliyanto, a commitment-making official at North Sumatra National Road Implementation Unit I; Muhammad Akhirun, president director of PT Dalihan Natolu Group; and Muhammad Rayhan Dulasmi Piliang, director of PT Rona Na Mora.

The first cluster concerns four road-construction projects run by the North Sumatra Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, while the second relates to two projects under North Sumatra National Road Implementation Unit I. The six projects were worth a total of around Rp231.8 billion.

On 5 May 2026, the KPK announced that it had expanded its investigation using a general investigation warrant, meaning no suspects had yet been named in the expanded probe.

On 7 October 2026, the KPK announced that it had named eight suspects, starting in September 2026.

On 13 October 2026, the KPK announced the identities of the eight suspects.
