Jakarta—The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating alleged receipt of mining proceeds in Kutai Kartanegara by Japto Soerjosoemarno, the chairman of Pemuda Pancasila (PP), from PT Alamjaya Barapratama (ABP).

The commission examined this matter whilst questioning Soerjosoemarno as a witness in a case alleging gratuities per metric tonne of coal production against a corporate defendant.

“The investigators examined witness 2 (PP chairman Japto) regarding the alleged receipt of mining proceeds from PT ABP as a security services fee,” stated KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

Soerjosoemarno remained tight-lipped after being questioned by the KPK at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (10 March 2026). He stated that the details of today’s examination should be directed to the KPK investigators.

“Don’t ask me,” said Japto. Despite this, journalists waiting for him continued to press questions regarding the examination.

“Ask the investigators,” he replied, maintaining his silence until entering his vehicle and departing the Red and White Building. “I was asked about my legal responsibility,” he added.

For context, the KPK has designated three corporations as suspects in the case of alleged gratuities per metric tonne of coal production involving former Kutai Kartanegara regent Rita Widyasari.

“The KPK has designated three new corporate suspects—PT SKN, PT ABP, and PT BKS. These designations were made in February 2026,” Budi stated on Thursday (19 February 2026). Budi confirmed that the three corporations were designated as suspects based on sufficient evidence.
