KPK Examines Officials from Ministry of Forestry and ATR/BPN in Kuansing Regent Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled the examination of two witnesses in the investigation of an alleged bribery case concerning the filling of regional apparatus positions and/or the receipt of gratuities in Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing), Riau Province, for the 2021-2026 period. The two individuals are Suprapto, Head of Sub-Directorate for Forest Area Designation Region I at the Directorate of Forest Area Designation, Directorate General of Forestry Planning, Ministry of Forestry, and Dalu Agung Darmawan, Director General of Agrarian Affairs at the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).
Based on information gathered, Suprapto and Dalu Agung have complied with the investigators’ summons. Suprapto arrived at the KPK office at 09.18 WIB, while Dalu Agung arrived at 10.35 WIB. Both are currently undergoing questioning. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the examination in a written statement, referring to the witnesses by their initials, S and DAD.
The KPK is currently prosecuting three individuals in this case, which was uncovered through a sting operation (OTT). The suspects are Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby, Kuansing Regional Secretary Zulkarnain, and Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant (MIC) Ardiles, for alleged bribery related to positions. Suhardiman is also being processed for alleged other receipts related to the release of a Limited Production Forest (HPT) area. The suspects are currently detained for 20 days until 20 July 2026 at the State Detention Centre (Rutan) branch of the KPK’s Merah Putih Building.
Suhardiman, as the recipient, is suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or letter b and/or Article 12 B of the Corruption Eradication Law. Meanwhile, Zulkarnain and Ardiles, as the givers, are suspected of violating Article 605 or Article 606 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code. Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni has been implicated in the case but has not yet been examined. The Secretary General of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) has reported the rejection of a gratuity he received from the Kuansing Regent to the KPK. However, the KPK rejected the report and will further investigate Raja Juli’s role in the ongoing investigation.
