KPK Examines Non-Active Muara Enim Regent Following Follow-Up Sting Operation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the non-active Regent of Muara Enim, Edison, and Cory Erin Hardi, a marketing employee of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi, following a follow-up sting operation that ensnared five civil servants from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) on Wednesday evening. “That is correct, they are undergoing examinations related to the sting operation,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters in Jakarta on Thursday. Budi stated that the examination of the two suspects was conducted to assist the investigation into the follow-up sting operation, which relates to the alleged manipulation of BPK audit findings on the Muara Enim Regency Government. In the KPK’s 12th sting operation throughout 2026, Muara Enim Regent Edison was among 10 individuals detained. On 9 June 2026, the KPK named four suspects in an alleged bribery case concerning the procurement of goods and services and other gratuities within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. On 10 June 2026, the KPK carried out a follow-up sting operation and arrested five civil servants from the BPK RI. This operation became the 13th sting operation conducted by the KPK in 2026.
